On media query for mobile devices you can use the following css which will stop such action:

You can resize the icons using simple css as we’re using fontawesome for the icons it’s easier to resize. Try to use css for resizing.

I think you’re not uploading image for which the default background color is taking the place. Please try to upload the correct shaped image so that it loads properly. If you’re still having issue please provide us a temporary admin access so that we can have a look at it. Please provide the page link where you’re trying to upload the image along with the image link.

Can you please show us a screenshot of which background? If you’re talking about breadcrumb then you will find settings to change that from each page. Also for blog & shop you’ll find option in theme option
